Named after Abigail Adams, wife to the 2nd United States President John Adams. She and her husband shared over 1,100 letters back and forth to one another (that we know of), which demonstrated their closeness and love for each other. They had a deep emotional and intellectual connection. She spent most of her life raising her family, and very dedicated to her home. She was deeply involved in advising her husband, even through his political career. The First Couple spent much time apart due to his law career, service in the Continental Congress and of course the Presidency (where she eventually joined him in Philadelphia). We love this love, and appreciate their many sacrifices made for the United States of America. Her life's work in service to her family and love for her husband make her a great namesake for this necklace.
